Caged Access Ladders for Safe Height Access

Under Section 19 of the ‘Work Health and Safety Act’, employers are legally obligated to ensure the ‘health and safety’ of [workers] is not put at risk from work carried out as part of the conduct of the business. Rooftop access, especially for a multi-storey facility or tall building, can be quite dangerous if there is inadequate fall protection in place. To comply with Australian Standards, a ladder cage must be provided where there is a risk that a person could fall 6 metres or more from a ladder.

Accidents do, unfortunately, happen so we must do whatever we can to mitigate the risks. Fortunately, there are practical solutions that AM-BOSS manufacture to help with Fall Protection, such as the AM-BOSS caged tread ladder, or the AM-BOSS caged rung ladder. Each are manufactured with lockable cages and optional flat locking plate to restrict access by unauthorised personnel. With the added bonus of securing your site from trespassers, consider our fixed tread or rung caged access ladders.

Some of the places that you would expect to find caged access ladders include:

  • High-rise buildings
  • Apartment complexes
  • Schools
  • Hospitals
  • Chemical plants
  • Factories
  • Aged care facilities

Product Features

We offer the best access solutions that comply with Australia’s National Construction Code (NCC) and AS1657. In addition to a variety of customisable options, our caged access ladders are:

  • Made from heavy duty aluminium
  • Fabricated and welded in-house
  • Corrosion resistant for external installations
  • Ergonomic and designed for ease of use
  • Manufactured to suit each individual environment — not modular systems that are cut to suit and, therefore, may not comply due to irregular tread / rung spacing
